Welcome to the official website of Peter Emelieze
On this website I woud like to present myself to the public. I am a professional sprinter from Nigeria specialized in the 60 m, 100 m and 200 m respectively.
Born and raised in Lagos, my sprinting career started as a junior in 2003 when I won a silver medal in my first major international engagement at the African Junior Championship in Garoua, Cameroun and my success came to spotlight and I became a force to reckon with in Nigerian Sprint.
In 2004, I was among the few athletes selected to represent Nigeria at the World Junior Championship in Grosseto, Italy. Throughout the year l became the fastest junior and the only home based athlete who made it to the finals of the national Olympic trials where I placed 7th, missing the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens by only one spot.
My first appearance for the senior national team representing Nigeria took place at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia 2006 competing in the 4 x 100m relay event.
My movement to Europe in order to establish my career as a professional athlete gave me the opportunity to compete with the best athletes in the world.
During the past few years of my career, I have engaged in series of IAAF organized athletic meetings and several international competitions all over the world. For more detailed information, please check my career highlights and profiles on IAAF and All-Athletics.com.
The major highlight of my career was the participation in the 100m athletic event of the Olympic Games 2012 in London. This lifetime experience offers further motivation to train and work harder towards the upcoming season and the next Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 2016.
